Our client was a customer at a fast-food restaurant. She went to the restroom and slipped on a puddle of water. The restaurant refused to respond to any demands or correspondence forcing us to file suit. It never provided an offer during litigation. We received a verdict of $65,496.34. A contingent fee charged on the successful recovery resulted in attorney’s fees of $29,473.35 and $1,148.18 in expenses, which were reimbursed by the client out of the gross settlement amount.
