Quick Payment After Car Accident

Most people don’t know that they could receive $2,500 to $10,000 within weeks of their accident. It’s called Personal Injury Protection (PIP). If you’ve been injured in an automobile accident, it may take a year to two years to receive any compensation from the liable party or their insurance carrier. During this time, you may be entitled to receive compensation under PIP from your own insurance carrier. In Texas, insurance carriers are required to offer PIP in all automobile insurance policies.

Typically, insurance carriers offer PIP coverage of $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000. PIP coverage provides payment for medical services, lost income, and care and maintenance of a family. Medical services include surgical, x-ray, dental, and/or funeral services. If you are employed at the time of the accident, PIP will also cover 80% of lost income.  This can be a huge benefit for individuals who are unable to work or have mounting medical bills.

The best part about PIP is it’s a quick source of payment. Your insurance carrier is normally required to make a payment within 30 days of receiving documentation. PIP is also a no fault coverage. Meaning you’re covered whether you caused the accident or not. Additionally, you may be entitled to seek payment under multiple PIP coverages.

If you have been injured in an automobile accident, are unable to work, and have mounting medical bills, you might be entitled to payment under PIP. As such, it is important to contact an attorney as soon as possible to make sure you receive proper payment. Give me a Call or Text at (214) 699-6524 or email me at awooley@wooleylaw.com.
